Would anyone reccommend an adhesive for sticking down veneer?

The job in hand is to replace a half inch wide ring of 2mm rosewood veneer around the front of the resonator on a banjo.

If its an old banjo then best to stay with animal glue but you will need to heat it, if its a one off and you don't want to buy a glue pot then a tin can in a saucepan of water will do, someone like Axminsters will have the glue. The advantage of this type of glue is that any repairs can be redone in the future just by the application of heat and a little water.

If you want a modern adhesive then Titebond do a liquid form of animal glue or there is alphatic resin which I use on new veneered work.

Thanks Jasonb. Now all I've got to do is dig around in the back of the shed and find that old 2-part glue pot..... ;) ....

....And start another thread about screws.....
