Hi all, hope to be doing a loft conversion soon and just wondering how heavy a 90mm x 300mm x 3.4m glulam beam would be, would it be a two man job or? or too heavy?

Roughly 0.01m3, so 40+kg each on a quick in my head calculation? At that length definitely 2+ person job given where you're getting them to.

I would guess slightly heavier at 50kg

its probably a 90 x 315 section and spruce timber density around 550kg per metre

1 person would struggle

Out of interest, can a timber beam take the loads instead of steel

If you're going for reasonable dimensions and ability to build with fewer people, look into composite beams eg flitch beam which is two timbers with a steel plate bolted in the middle.
