Golf Mk4 1.6SE Petrol SOHC 2002 Early Morning starting issues.

Hi, i have this issue whereby the car starts all day long all weathers.
Then, come the mornings when cold or damp..The car winds over with good battery life but engine splutters and seems to misfire untill it picks up. I have to keep up the revs untll it settles to normal tick over.
There have been suggestions about the coolant sensor but this is normally when the car wont start when warm not the opposite so I have held off replacing that yet. Any ideas???

The coolant sensor can fail both ways Mick so for what it costs I'd replace it.
Also, check for any air leaks in the rubber pipes leading from the air cleaner to inlet manifold area.

Ok John got that. Yep parts are peanuts no probs. Ill run those check. Cheers Mick
