I bet you were on that little dumper you shipped in !

I am still intrigued about the Appolo speedboat... what a coincidence.

:D

Not such a coincidence seeing as we have a population of only 2000ish, the guy that owned it was called John Nichols, he's the local pilot, also owned Star Castle hotel, he sold her to the lifeboat cox who continued to do trips around the islands with she until she was superseded by the new ribs. :D

I thought about the populace.. but maybe you were away .. I saw lots of boats around the place, so I thought although she was great during my 20 min ride, to the expert maybe just another floater...
Anyway nice to know the owner is still alive and kicking..
Good luck and a virtual pint to him for 20 mins not forgotten !
:D

Solitude, of the early morn.

I recall laying in the sun on Berry head and Sharkham Point - Using me telescope on a small tripod, watching the upperworks of ships as they passed by hull down just over the horizon.
There is a certain magic about the sea... Cannot shake it off.

Blimey the 'scope, still going strong - Jap'. 60 x 60 zoom - bought new in '68 - 39 years young...

Hey! pip,we was watching one of those only this morning over coffee on the decking, a ships white superstructure steaming along on the horizon looked like the hull was underwater. LOL
The sea? its a primeval thing, I can't bare to be away from it, the furthest was Uluru.

Hull down blinding white ..'tis an unbelievable sight, we know the earth is curved but that really demonstrates the fact.. Lucky buqqer !
I often wonder, back when most believed she was flat, something big enough must have floated away and been observed 'off the edge' but not falling !
I am drawn terribly to the sea - maybe due to all my youthful years viewing the Bristol channel from my bedroom window... Mind you 'our' lot stepped ashore from Lyme Bay in 1600.

Flew over the big red rock exiting Oz !

We have all Oz family and friend's land plots on Google earth

And Dundry !

A pity Google earth doesn't cover more of the UK.
:D :D

Back to sunsets, this one tonight over Gweal island, nothing but seabirds live there.
