Hi,
In a few spots in our house, I'm seeing where rafters would be between the ground and 1st floor and 1st floor and the loft.
They've been there a long time, as long as I can remember, at least 2 years, but just one of those things starting to play on my mind.
I don't think they have got worse over the last year, and I've been in the loft during rain and cannot see any ingress of water. The one top right of the light is under a loft board, which is dry.
They are dry and hard to touch. The ceiling I presume, is artex and likely original as the house was built in the 1970's.
Humidity in the house is usally 50-60%. We did have a dry ridge fitted to the roof two years ago due to condensation, but these patches aren't where those were. There is no crack in the plaster either. There are one or two small hard bulges which I imagine are screws.
Is this aging or something to be concerned about? Could it be the loft now it has more ventilation, is better, and that's impacted things?
The bathroom has a different ceiling and it's not evident in that. I think that's just plaster on boards, perhaps.
