Anyone used it? Just seen it being used today. Seems very simple.

Can you recommend any other better/'easier to use' free partition software?

Thank you in advance.

gparted is a great little no-nonsense tool and is what everyone at work uses.

I used it to create an ext3 partition on my NTFS external hard disk.
I can then backup my recorded TV from my Humax foxsat.

I've used it on countless occasions without issue, realistically you're not going to get a better free tool, GParted is better than a lot of the commercial tools. I've only had one bad story from a friend of mine that used it to resize an NTFS partition and he lost some data but that's about it, the moral of the story is that if you're resizing an existing partition make sure you back-up your data.

Ease of use, well to me it's easy to use, I don't think you could make it much easier given the GUI.

You have not told us what you want to do ... are you just looking to resize / move partitions etc.

Or do you need more functionality - such as the ability to recognise encrypted drives, edit sectors and such ? If this is the case then you probably will need commercial tools such as partition magic or acronis
