hello, i am in the tricky position of having lost the services of the local boiler engineer at present. my grant boiler trips out after a second or two. having downloaded a manual after advice from this site a couple of things might not be right , the gap between the electrodes is 4.5mm and should be 4mm ideally. can the gap be adjusted? or is it time for a new electrode unit? the nozzle has 80H stamped on it but the manaul states a 75/80S should be fitted? the boiler exhaust was very smelly for two days before it shut down, i could not see smoke but i could smell the fumes almost as if it was running rich.
at present i am trying to proves that the nozzle is not blocked , as the jet hole is so small i have shone a light down it but cant see any light coming through, is there a better way to detect a blockage?
cheers for all help, where can i get spares from ?
