Teeny update. Checked connection at PCB and at store and it worked for a short time, so new thermistor ordered. However, where it sits seems full of muck, which I can probably clean with a cotton bud or similar. Is this normal? And I take it the circlip just holds the wire and nothing else!
We look after a good number of Grant combi's
First it's vanishing rare to have thermistor problems. In fact we don't bother changing when we change the board .
No not normal for pocket to be full of muck.
Not inadvertently got water on board have you?
Far and away the most common cause of failure.
When you get a chance, you might measure the total height of the PHEX and the distance from the bottom of the PHEX to the thermistor pocket.
It should give some indication of when the boiler fires up after DHW is requested.
