Hello,
I have a grant vortex pro boiler external which i believe may be drawing air, new install ish!
I have read loads of threads but cant seem to find anything to help so thought i would ask,
Works central heating perfect no air ever appears to be draw in and none in rads.
When it goes onto hot water its fine for quite a while then shortly before the cylinder reaches temp you hear gurgles and air drawn through the pump from the boiler direction then i usually bleed it out of the magflow filter to stop is circulating back into the boiler.
Here is a pic of the inside, boiler is literally other side of the wall,(outside) hot cylinder is just to the left so its a very short run, (pipes running horizontally along wall to it) obviously pump is on flow and return is below with the filter on, the lagged pipe is cold in. Just after the mag filter is a tee with a 15mm pies coming off with an air valve and 15mm to expansion. Just as the pipes go out of view they 90 outside through the wall to the boiler.
2 pipes going vertically to floor are heating flow and return.
The boiler installer put the 3 bar relief valve on the return line inside the boiler, (not with the expansion vessel in the house) could that valve have gone bad and at high temps be letting air in?
Ive looked all over at joints etc and cant seem to see any traces of leaks or any water under the boiler its self? also turned its heat down a tad but still same.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.
