Hi

I've got a flat area of my garden, about 8ft x 25ft that I'd like to gravel. Part of it is currently turfed and part has paving slabs laid on sand. What's the best way to gravel it? Will a gravel grid add anything or is it not needed. I plan to put a weed membrane down, can gravel go straight on this or do I need any other kind of layer?

The finished area will host a kids trampoline and some sun loungers.

Cheers in advance for any advice.

I would go with the weed membrane,

Then some type 1 and whack it down, not much as its not a drive.

Then a thin layer of 6-15mm gravel and whack it into the type 1 (so if anything scuffs away the top layer the MOT is not exposed.

Then a second deeper layer of gravel so its about 25-40mm deep and give it another whackering.
