Assuming that the intelligence gathering done on Greenland is a 24/7, there are likely only about 50 on duty at any one time.
I wonder how many (if any) have Arctic training. They will be mainly EW operators who generally don’t do much infantry training after basic. Although they will have to keep their weapons training up twice a year.

The aim of the visit was to show Trump that NATO was serious about boosting the defence of the Arctic. But Trump was told that it was about NATO putting troops there to counteract him. When the adviser briefed him - Vance would be my guess - he went nuts and ordered the tariffs.
