hi all
am a bit confused with this unit. was installed 4 years ago and has been working fine till now.its installed so that it comes on with the lights and then stays on for 15min when light is switched off before it goes off.

now for the past few days, when the light is turned on, the fan comes on as usual but then after about a min or 2 (with light still on), the extractor fan turns off. it will come on and off intermittently and will continue even when i switch the light off. this carries on for the overrun time of 15min.

my question is, does it need a new replacement or is it something am missing and can be fixed? i guess its easier to just buy a new one but if am being honest, these days i worry about my environmental impact.i took it off and cleaned all the fluff etc but same problem.

hope someone can advise. many thanks in advance for reading.

thank you

thanks DetlefSchmitz.

i checked the connections though. all good. in fact i took it down and cleaned it and reconnected same as before. only 3 cables and connected as below
red-L
blue-N
yellow-L1

thank you

How did you check the connections. just visual doth not butter any parsnips, as they say...
If you have a 2-probe voltage tester (if not, why not:D) then your next job is to check that there is permanent 230V on L, and that power stays on L1 when the light is on. Test to the N, to check that the N is consistent too.

If the power disappears, unexpectedly, then there's a faulty connection/switch/something.
If all the voltages stay on, then your fan is probably cream crackered.

i appreciate your comments and advise. thank you. hopefully i will find some videos for electrical doughnuts like me. ha ha haaa:D
