Just opened door of Zanussi jet stream washer dryer after a wash (not dried) to find everything covered in a pale grey dust which looks suspiciously like disintegrated door rubber. There is loads of it, much stuck in the creases of the seal. But the seal itself looks in pretty good condition, certainly on the outside, and no water has leaked out.

Do I clean it out and try again, or am I risking further damage. Or take it apart and look for further damage?

Any suggestions welcome, thanks

Bearing slack?
The grey dust may be coming from the the drum being in contact with the tub/seal. Open the door & lift the drum up/down, then spin it by hand & listen for a grinding/rumbling noise. If you find either your bearings are history. If you hear a tinny/scraping noise there may be something stuck between the tub & drum (bra wire etc). Post the PNC number on the door sticker if you need futher info.
