Grid switch multiply feeds ???

My daughter bought a house with lots of switch’s for all the kitchen appliances etc coming off the kitchen ring apart from the oven and fridge freezer which have own radial cct each .

The plan to install a grid switch so it doesn’t look so messy

Is it ok to have the 3 separate Ring / fridge / Oven feeds in one grid switch

1 ) Assuming it will all fit in the back box

2)The new oven isn’t over 20A

Yes, it would be acceptable to have the three circuits in the one grid switch but is it worth the bother?

There will be a lot of cables and wires involved.

Then we wouldn’t be able to isolate the appliance ie dishwasher without pulling it out or turning off the whole ring thus turning everything else off

Just fit an iso for the dishwasher if it’s important.

You seam to be going to an awful lot of work and hassle for no benefit.

Also you don’t want to isolate the oven unless it’s tripping rcd.

And the fridge wants to be on as much as possible, with no accidental switch offs. It’s on an independent circuit for a reason. Don’t mess with it! Don’t even bring it into the same back box. What is the benefit. It will just get accidentally turned off or turn off for electrical work.

That is true - but you don't like the switches.

I'm in agreement with EFL, there's plenty of cable length on appliances to pull out for maintenance. It's not often people need to do this, a simply single socket behind them is fine imho and less clutter above work surfaces/tops.
anyway. Grid switches can be fiddly to install too.

Put a socket in an adjacent cupboard.

The only time that will be happening is when the appliance is broken - which will mean pulling it out to replace it regardless of the presence of any switches.
Might happen perhaps once in 5 years maybe.
