Hi
I 'm looking to add an extractor fan to my ground floor toilet, it currently has no ventilation at all. But other than knocking a hole on the wall to install an wall extractor fan, is there better options? It is another bathroom above the toilet which is tiled so I can't do anything there. I found window fans too but wife doesn't like the look of it.

You dont just "knock a hole in the wall" - a core hole saw is used thats just slightly larger than the diameter of the extractor.

You can hire a core drill and a 105mm core bit from your local hire shop; you'll also want a 10mm sds drill to make the pilot hole through the wall first. You need to drill ever so lightly downwards toward the outside (about 5 degrees downwards) so that any moisture that condenses flows outwards.

As the fan needs wiring up by an electrician, it could be easier to get him to drill the hole as well.
