If you know the reg no but not the make, DVLA won't tell you, but RAC and some online insurers will. So try http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/ This will also tell you if the old personal reg no from your Morris Marina, for example, is now on a Porsche. The DVLA site is http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ (take the signpost to Vehicle Enquiry) p.s. I think the TimeOut is because the link was to a session I had open last night. There is a "back" button near the bottom of the TimeOut page that will take you back to DVLA. I have edited the link now
