Are there any guidelines for determining the minimum area of roof lights as a proportion of the total room area below to give adequate daylight?
I am looking at a ground floor extension comprising a single room 3.5m x 4m with a monopitch roof spanning in the 3.5m direction. There are bi-fold doors in one end wall but no other windows as the 4m wall and the other end wall are very close to boundary fences.
3 x 55cm x 78cm (or 98cm) roof windows look about right but will they give me adequate daylight? Any guidance appreciated.
