I have a 40mm pipe that runs for some 4-5m from a shower to a soil pipe. I'm pretty sure it's half full of gunge from years of use near a beach so probably gungy sand. I need a tool to run down the pipe to clear it out because the shower is slow draining. I've looked at this https://www.screwfix.com/p/essentials-drain-unblocker-7-6m/186xg but the end doesn't look like its going to remove the gunk sitting at the bottom of the pipe.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

It could be soap/grease build-up. Have you tried clearing the trap hair collector? A plunger may be better.

Plunged it to within an inch of it's life but still runs slowly. The trap is completely clean.
The tool linked won't really work if its soap scum. Probably going to need a flush or soda crystals/bi-carb and boiling water
