Iv have a 3 bed semi, myself and my neighbours from hell have bay Windows, the windows are covered by a roof which runs the length of the building. The problem is thier gutter is falling of and pulling mine down, when it rains it's like a waterfall at the joint. Can't talk to my neighbours there's nothing between thier ears, any body got any suggestions.

To carryout either of your suggestions I will have to go on thier land or handle thier property, legally and technically I'm not allowed,situations similar to this are what caused friction between us. It's difficult to explain these people are completely unreasonable.

Ensure your guttering is in good condition, fixed and not leaking. Then if their surface water (rain water) is draining on to your property, report them 'cos it's not allowed.

The council can't help because some of the water will be coming of my roof as well. If the source of the water was on their land and it was draining onto mine its a different matter. I think a letter to them may work but I need to know what to put in it. I don't want to make any hollow statements or set unreasonable deadlines . Help.

That was my specific point:
Ensure your guttering is not leaking and you have fixed a stop end on to your guttering, thereby separating it from next doors.
Any water coming down then will be from their roof/guttering.
Keep a copy of the letter and use it to argue your case.

You could try explaining your intentions, in the letter, see if they object. If so, fix the stop end to your guttering only.

wait till it gets real dark and yank the bloody lot down ( of coarse it was the wind ) go out the next morning refix yours with new stopend and bobs your auntys sister !!!
I know what your saying, but if i cut the gutter thiers will fall. I'm going to write and tell them the problem and ask them thier intentions. If I touch thier property another argument will follow.

Rather than cutting their gutter, make a plastic template of the internal of the gutter to create a blanking piece or you could try cutting down a stop end and then using an external adhesive to stick the template in place to stop the neighbours rainwater. You may have to use some ingenuity to stop the neighbours removing the stop end.
