Finally got the gyproc moisture resistant board in place with the help of a mate.

Mixing up the adhesive was eventful as the bag had no instructions and neither of us had done it before so we just kept pouring and mixing and testing on a trowel every so often until it could hold its weight. We'd added to much water to start with so it took most of the 25kg bag to thicken up.

So do I just whack on this tanking stuff that i've heard recommended. Made by BAL is it? Do they sell it in B&Q?

Can anyone give me the exact name so i look for it in store?

Cheers!

I`ve fitted a few wetrooms
Forgive me if i`m wrong but have you taped the joints
-between wall and floor
-corners
-around outlet or gulley
-and outlet pipes for the shower

i`ll look for the link for the tape i`ve used

i`d highly recomend it as it remains flexible and wetrooms as you know are expensive even more so if they spring a leak

Cheers for the link although, it's not a wetroom, just a normal bathroom with a bath to be fitted and an over bath mixer shower.

Do i not need to tank for this? Various people seem to think that gyproc moisture resistant board is not enough and that i should tank it so i was after the name of the kit to use but if that's not necessary in this case let me know.

Cheers!

you can tank it but it bit over the top for just a bath with a mixer.

the dunlop shower kit is a waterproofer you paint on prior to tiling not a tanking kit

the teleseal strip is a telescopic seal in 2 parts one attaches to wall other to bath as there is movement when you fill a bath with water and get in these seals are the dog b*****ks
and will last longer than silicone and are prettier

Although it’s only over a bath, it’s still effectively a wet shower area & I would waterproof it to avoid any possibility of disappointment. B&Q don’t sell BAL but Topps tiles stock some of their products; not sure if they do WP1 or the tanking kit but they can be a bit pricey so you need to push them for a discount; or get it on line. Not personally used Dunlop so can’t comment but I believe since a couple of years they are now part of the same company. Use flexible adhesive & grout, BAL again as far as I’m concerned.

Personal preference really but not overly keen on the seal that Bagerchief recommends; looks good in principle but it’s a bit chunky & I can see it getting a bit cruddy after a while. I would tile down to the bath & use silicone sealant; if it’s a good quality silicone & correct for the application it should last.

i agree it is quite a chunk although if fitted prior to tiling not quite so bad as for going cruddy clean with vinigar looks like new as with all bathroom plastic and glass
