TBH i think there was a debate about this on here in around 2004

I have sent a strongly worded email regarding their attitude to reversing polarity on Class II appliances. "Don't worry, it's safe."

Yeah, right. Unbelieveable.

As for their silver speaker cable, it's

8 feet for £9865.53, which is £1233.19 per foot. Or £4110.63 per metre.

11 feet for £12120.51, which is £1101.86 per foot. Or £3672.87 per metre.

All figures approx...

There's no point - they aren't selling these products, and saying all these things on their website because they believe it all - they are doing it because they have found that other people will believe them and they can make a great deal of money exploiting these people's stupidity.

They are liars, cheats and thieves.

I think we're all in the wrong business. I ordered an IEC power distribution unit from Russ Andrews earlier in the year. Before anyone asks, no, I'm not (that) mad, it was simply a standard 8-outlet PDU and probably the cheapest item on their site at (believe it or not) sub-£50, and it was pretty much my only choice due to the requirement for it to be extremely compact.

They also included a catalogue with the order, which looked like it must have cost £50 to print onto the finest teflon cross-radiated directional polymer parchment available to man. I nearly choked on my breakfast when I saw what they were charging for a power lead fitted with a length of SY and a Clipsal 13A plug. Safe to say it went straight into the bin, although on second thoughts I think I may have been better off burning the catalogue and taking in the fumes, as I've heard rumours that their sacred parchment holds the key to immortality.

And how many of his customers hi-fi improved once they had their ears syringed. :p
I'm sure he could sell you some extra-virgin snake oil and a cryogenically treated rhodium-plated OFC copper syringe for just that purpose...

The world of Hi-Fi is an amazing place. I used to be really into it when I was an impressionable teen / twenty something, but realised that a lot of it was complete b******s. I've often found the parallels in the subjects of HiFi and fine wine. Viz much of it is completely subjective, if you like the sound that comes out of your all expense spared AmIasuckerstrad then so be it. If you like blue nun so be it.

I it was simply a standard 8-outlet PDU
And were RA charging less for a standard 8-way PDU than any of the thousands of other companies who sell standard 8-way IEC PDUs?

No, but on this occasion they were the only company offering a PDU wih a decent amount of outlets yet compact enough to fit into the (very small amount of) available space.
