Hi all,

New here, but buying my first home over the coming months and want to do as much as I can myself! So first task is to up my kerb appeal! House already has a nice new front door in a pale green with sidelight, then the driveway will be getting stoned for the time being. New soffits, facias and downlights will be getting done also which brings me to the above.

Porch!

Now I like the look of the half wall/dwarf wall porches with wood/oak topping to them, more of a canopy then a porch I guess. So I am going to have an attempt at doing this myself! With the oak sitting on the wall as well as being tied into the exterior of the house my main question is - is it hugely important about foundations? Had to get my head around if they are required or not? So wondered everyone's advice and if any other novice had taken on such a task?

Appreciate any advice in advance!

Simon
