I recently purchased this new halogen ceiling light but the light intensity is not strong enough to light my bedroom.
Is it possible to change these 12 off 10w G4 halogens to 20w instead ? I presume there is a transformer in the light lighting ceiling rose.

What does it say on the lamp fitting? Is it suitable to take 20w lamps (assuming you can buy them)?

Only if the transformer and fitting is rated to 240VA.

Edit. D'oh!

Very unlikely.

Out of interest, that light fitting consumes 120 watts, where you would once have had a single 60 watt light bulb, and where an 18 watt CFL would light the room more than adequately.

Take it back, buy a pendant pamp holder and put

this in it
