Hardie Board On Aerated Bricks

I am doing up a small bathroom on the first floor and have taken of all the plaster which has revealed aerated blockwork.

I am going to stick up hardie boards all the way round the wall and drill them in with wall plugs

Should the wall be SBR bonded first and I can SBR one face of the hardie board neat to increase adhesion? I don’t see how it would cause any problems

Any advice grateful welcomed

SBR isn't an adhesive so it won't stick the boards to the block work.
