hardwood floor laying

hi
im gonna lay a hardwood floor ontop of old floor boards,is there any sort of underlay i need,like a sound barrier!
also,under the house we have a 3 ft crawlspace,is there anything i need to take into consideration.

alo.....
i was wanting to put some sort of isulation under the original floor boards[in the crawlspace under the house,any tips?any specific kinds of insulation!"its cold here=)

Hi Anna
If existing floorboards are level (not cupped) 2 - 3mm foam underlayment will be fine. Don't use DPM with it, could cause condensation between existing floorboards and underlayment

sorry for being stupid,dpm!damp proof membrane?i realy dont know,
i told the guy who is gonna lay the floor he just scratched his head.not a good sign for me

Alveolit Underlay 3mm thick
That's the one. Without Damp Proof membrame, or as they call it: vapour barier
