I don't think any government hopes that the opposition will be elected to "fix their mistakes". Are you really sure that was their policy?

Anyway, why are the tories borrowing even more than labour? We covered this only about a month ago ...

The Conservatives have been the biggest borrowers over the last 70 years

Could it be because they had to sort out Labour's spending fails each time they took office?

In theory it could be I suppose, but in practice that is not what happens. We all know that is not the case - tory policy is to cut welfare and cut taxation. If only they taxed millionaires properly they would be able to run the NHS and rest of the government properly and borrow less money.

A vote for tory is a vote to put the country into more debt. It happens every time. Their response is to sell off state assets and shut down anything not making a big profit. Just looks at Royal Bank of Scotland - saved by the labour government, which saved jobs too, and then sold back to the private sector by the tories before making the money back!

Explain how that is labours fault.

Today's news updates .... all looking strong and stable, and very conservative.

Theres a surprise, you refuse to acknowledge your 'benefit scroungers' narrative is a one sided argument and you cant admit to the balancing argument.

Another strange thing is the pound rising (a little) on the news that the reason for its slump is now going to happen.

I know it's just a casino but strange all the same.

Not really markets don't like uncertainty and paralysis. Obs I have no idea where it will settle.

It’s not all doom and gloom though....

More shock news!

UK share prices about where they were three years ago!

This is seen as great victory

Who can guess what European share prices have been doing?

Shock news!

People who sell houses try to encourage people to buy houses.

Who could have seen that coming?
The Guardian isn't selling houses these days is it?
I was reading about it in the evening standard on my way home tonight. Apparently many of the bigger properties (including one at £65m) we’re waiting on a result as they all had 'Corbyn clauses' in the contract allowing them to pull out if Labour won the election.

Tax dodging billionaires? Russian gangsters?

The sort of people Buffoon likes and Jeremy doesn't.

Well, he's made a lightning tour of Northern towns thanking them for 'loaning their vote' to him, and backing up his pledge to put over 30 billion extra into the NHS in the next four years, he's promised to have that enshrined in law by Thursday, the first prime minister in UK history to do such a thing.

I'd call that a good start.
Agree here hes trying to do the right thing no doubt will be accused of virtue signalling whenever he actually does the right thing (by the opposition).

And when I say opposition that's where Corbyn lost. He just opposed anything Tories proposed right or wrong.
