Obviously none of us really know how we'd react in any given situation until faced with it.

In a parallel universe, I can imagine if Scotland had been independent of England all my life, and then England started to invade trying to take Scotland by force, I'd be prepared to take up arms to defend my country. I suspect many of you would be the same i.e. if England came under attack and you were called on.

Or yoof would (hopefully) surprise us in a positive way if the call came ...

Like I say I could be wrong, however I reckon we might surprise ourselves, young and not so young. Ok, it's not to say we'd be that effective without at least a degree of training (Dad's Army springs to mind!), however I think the spirit would be there.

I am talking about conscripts which would be needed like in WW2. They was a different generation with a different view and mindset.

The change in mindset is from lazy right wingers who parrot Trumpf and sympathise with Pootin. As you say, a completely different mindset from those patriotic days.

The far right Trumpf supporters won’t have to find out what they’re made of, they’ve given into Pootin already. But to answer your question aircraft gunners won’t be needed in a future war, it will be dominated by drones. Plenty of keyboard warriors ready to volunteer I suspect
