What is it with train companies?

They charge huge amounts for tickets, pay handsome dividends to shareholders, but when things go tits up, go running to Daddy, I mean the Government, for more money.

If you can't run a company, provide a service at an affordable rate and have enough left over for maintenance, then you deserve to go under.

I just don't understand it.
