Heat Pump heating - anyone have/used/installed it?

Id agree with only one on that list, the two others wouldn't perform .the choice we would make would also be the only designed product of it's kind for ashp air/water

Thank very carefully, the OP is in a Scottish Hydro area chaps. Remember ASHP are rubbish >8degreeC.

Not all, as I've told you before Puller one manufacturer make a unit that works to -25,states performance at -15.

Sandard ashp including high temp altherma don't like <8degc

You need to think out of the box a little.

The Sanyo Co2 ECO is a great unit, but the cost of such an installtion is just too high & the pay back period far too long.

With a Total Control tariff & an electric storeage boiler, the OP will have the best of both worlds, cheap installation & running cost.

Certainly also have a wood burning stove, if you have a good souce of cheap seasoned wood.

ooo its all go in 'ere.......ok, a few points...

Have a stove, though it just cooks the lounge and heat goes nowhere else......

water - hmm. Hadnt considered if we want the system to heat the water. I think what we do have is probably dated now and not totally efficient...
I'm being a total girl here by saying we have a tank in the loft (cold water storage?) and a green tank in the airing cupboard (Immersion???)

One level property so dont need to consider upstairs/downstairs.

we were going to look into getting a grant.

we were quoted around 2k for the system. There would also be a back up in place for any problems which would not encroach the small space of our airing cupboard (tis the only viable space we have!)

Total control...... hadnt considered that either but our bills are sky high as it is (what is with this cheaper at night nonsense??? I sleep at night!...) what difference would TC make?

anyhoo, thanks all for your input and I'm sure that once we have researched further I'll be back to either say we're doing it or we're not...

cheers! 8)
