Heater Ring For Neff Ovens

I have a question that you probably all this is stupid, but I need the answer anyway.
I have an electric Neff oven and the heater ring has decided to pack up. I have manged to get a new heater ring, but this new ring does not have an earth connector, as the old one I am taking off does.
Do I need to find a new ring with an earth connector, or can I fit the new ring I have got and just tape up the earth connection?
