heating control flap ford fiesta

hi....... the heater in my fietsa is making a clicking noise when trying to find the control temperature. I've been told it's the control flap gear gog that is slipping. I know it is an expesive job to repair ( all front panel and dash out ). Does anyone know a quick fix for this problem.

The curse of the plastic gear pinion strikes again, Mick......try removing the glove box completely and you should see the actuator, screwed to the side of the heater plastic ducting.
(I remember this from a Ka - maybe the Fiesta is similar).
