I've just moved into my new house and have noticed the heating isnt to great. The problem being (I think) is I have old single rads being feed with 8mm microbore pipe. They are feed by a condensing boiler(1 year old)and they are all placed under windows.Would it make sence to replace all the old rads with new double rads and move them from under the windows(I'm having a wall knocked down in January so they can be placed on the adjacent wall).

Sounds like you need to have the system checked by a heating engineer to establish why the existing system isn't performing. The radiator sizes may not be the main problem.

The rads are roasting hot all over ,they just dont give out a decent heat. The room isnt much bigger than the last place.

In which case doubling them up makes sense, but leave them under windows - it's the best position. Also check draught proofing and insulation.

Er, so what?!

Find a heat loss calculator program - plenty online.
FInd radiator output tables, ditto.
Convector fins add about 1 third to a panel radiator's output, so take a quarter off to get figures for yours from "single convector" outputs. Then you will know where you are.

Best place for rads is under windows unless you have floor to ceiling curtains, or like cold feet.
