please help. why does my pressurized central heating stay on when the controller has switched off?

somethings giving it a signal to stay on.

need more info on type of system and whats staying on.

Maybe it is suffering from the credit crunch, and trying to clock some overtime.

thanks selco.

I really don't no much about this but here goes. The boiler is a baxi solo three. I have a new Honeywell 6400c programmer, the thermostat is a horstman hr2. It is a pressurized system in a maisonette. I have a three port diverter valve. The heating stays on after the set times. The programmer lights show that the heating should be off but the thermostat light stays on and the the thermostat has no control as the heat gets really bad. I am at my wits end, if you could help i would be extremely grateful.

Thanks.

sounds like your wall stat is still getting power from somewhere.

can you use a multi meter ?

if you have your programmer set to off for heating and hw
you can check for mains power in your wall stat on term 1.

as you say your wall stat light is staying on.
who fitted the new programmer and why have you had a new one ?
