HELP...Adiabatic equation!!!

Can anyone help me with a breakdown of how to use this formula?
Im currently reading a scaddan book with it in and dont know how to apply the values.

okey dokey.....

So my problem is how to work out the "square root"of a value...

Its been a few years since school so how do i find out the square root of

453(sq) x0.1(secs) ?

Look for the Sq rt button on your calc/pc (the one that looks like a tick - can't find a picture of one but I'm sure someone can) and hit that for the Sq rt of the value you have

Think i filled a full A4 notepad with equations trying to work out how to do it when all this time it was one rubber button away......

to work out the sq root use the iterative raphson - newton method (or the button on a calc)
