Tony i have made it perfectly clear last night and in the past what i would charge.
It is a 2 minute phone call to either PTS or gas appliances spares in preston and the parts are delivered to me either that day or the next depending on who i get it from.
And whatever they charge me for the part plus any delivery is exactly what i charge . Not the so called retail and i show the customer the invoice but take it with me for my books.
The amount of money i make from goodwill and recommendations far out weigh any extra mark up i could stick on the price.
Give it a try you may save a small fortune in advertising

Thats very good and honest and it follows my technique except that if I have to go and collect the part myself I add about £10 towards the cost of fuel and time spent.

A slight difference is that I expect to complete the repair the same day on one visit. Thats why we stock most common parts. Since I dont change any more if I have to return with a part its in my own interest to make sure that I have any parts which might be needed.
