Hi All,

New to the forum and without heating or hot water, and as it seems relatively simple to fix, so I thought I would try and ask a forum to see if I could get some guidance.

We have a Boulter Classic Boiler (Not sure of the model) that seems to have gone into lockout. It's got a solid red light showing and nothing else happening (noises etc).

W have attempted to restart it, but this has not done anything to get it working.

A boiler repairman came out about a year ago to get it out of lockout (or "bleed" it), but I am not entirely sure how to do so. From what I can tell, you need a spanner, a bleeder tool and a pan for it to bleed into.

I would be grateful if someone on here can let me know how to do so (ie. where to bleed it from etc), as this would save me a few pound getting someone to come out for what seems like a 5 minute job.

I've attached some images of the main boiler part, but do let me know if you need further info.

Best regards,

TLF

If you are saying that it has locked out because you let it run out of oil, you may get it going by removing the silver plug below the blue wire in your pic. 1
you will need an old towel or similar to catch the oil and froth that will flow out, replace the plug afterwards, making sure you have not lost the silver sealing washer (it is a 15mm spanner) - DO NOT TOUCH the darker coloured fitting above, as this will radically change the fuel pressure which without specialist test instruments you will not be able to reset!!

However if the Burner has locked out for reasons other than running out of oil you will need an oil boiler engineer to take a look. ;)
