help. living flame fire to coal fire

hi there, i have already posted one topic about my bloody gloworm boiler.
i was just wanted to know if any one new the following.

i have a living flame fire in my front room, but what like to make it in to a coal fire. it was one about ten years ago but then it was changed to a gas livin flame one. i did not do the job. any ideas how to change it back.

does the chimney now have a liner fitted? is the chimney still complete with a chimney pot?

hi there, it still has a pot on the chim, but not sure about a filter
