We have a Feature Flame coal effect gas fire with loose ceramic coals.

The back of the fire place is painted black and is starting to peel so I need to repaint. The surface seems to be made of a cement type of material.

When lit, the back of the fire place is in contact with the flames.

Please can someone recommend a suitable paint to cover the back of the fire place? I am little puzzled as to whether heat resistant paint is suitable as mostly these do not specify that they can be exposed to flames directly.

I would prefer to brush paint this on rather than spray.

Many thanks.
