Help please with selecting new alarm

Hello,

We had a Gartec 580 alarm installed in our house in 1993.

A couple of years ago the alarm became faulty and I think the battery charging circuit has failed. Also the LEDs on one of the bell boxes have stopped flashing.

I am thinking its better to replace the whole lot with something more modern and I was hoping somebody would please recommend me a wired alarm system which includes a control panel, an additional remote panel, 8 PIR zones and 2 bell boxes. I will be using the existing wiring so it should be just a case of removing the old and wiring in the new.

I think I've narrowed it down to :

2 x Risco NovaGard 6 bell boxes
Texecom VERITAS R8 Plus or Texecom Premier 24 Control Panel

Will these work together?
Which is better, R8+ or the Premier?

Can anyone recommend some PIRs please? We don't have any pets or intend to have any.

Also, can 2 PIRs be chained off the same cable? They can be in the same Zone, thats ok.
