Hi,

I have moved into a new property which is fitted with a Scantronic 9800+ alarm.
All I have is the manual and no codes etc. The alarm has power and the sensors seem to be working, but I have no idea what the code is.

Is there a way that I can reset it and to find out the pin code?

Thanks

without either the user or engineer code you cannot change the other codes.

needs to be defaulted back to factory and then re programmed.

the engineer code is 03, that is the code used to identify the log entry only,

its not the code to get into the system.

if you do not have the engineer of user code you will have to default the panel back to factory and re program it.

simples!!!!

Actually you can default codes only and save the programming.
You have to be sure it is a 9800+ and not a 9800.

ah yes!!
now i remember!

it aint like the 9600/9610 with NVM 9 and 10 or was it 8 and 9!?!?

well he still has to default it, no matter what!

LOL @ us.

I had to think as well, it dawned the + changed certain things.

I have the same problem with a property I have just moved into. The user code I have been given does not appear to work. There is no response when I enter it and press A. The day light stays on. I have spoken with the engineer that installed it and he says it will need a full reset. They have quoted £105 + VAT for a one hour visit. I have downloaded a manual that explains Refreshing the NVM.

Can I reset it myself if I can get the engineer code from them?

Can I reset it myself without either user or engineer code?

Will the alarm go off if I open the control box and disconnect all power?

Can I tell if the code I have been given is correct? No LEDS are displayed
other than power and day even if I enter a different code.

1, Why not make a new post?
2, Why would he give you a code, he wants his time paying for. And his code is his own anyway. The only difference is it makes it easier for him to get the system back running in this instance.
3, Do you think the charge is unreasonable, as he will get the system to do as you wish and service it.
4, Of course it will go off if you tamper with the cover.
5, I am wondering why it does not go into tamper if you keep entering incorrect codes, are you not telling us everything?
6, Your quite welcome to open it up and see which one you have, remember there is mains electricity present and should be isolated and tested before commencing works.
7, Generally 9800 has a flap across the keypad, the + just on one side.
