I keep getting a shock off an 11Kv transformer when I have a bath. I connected both outputs to the hot and cold taps, and run a flying lead directly to the leccy meter.....used a 50mm bolt as a fuse so I think I'm safe in that respect.

Do I need to earth it?

Earth rod resistances should be: -
Steel tank - 40 ohm
Neutral - 20 ohm
or if you want to combine them 1 ohm

Metal bath.........but has plastic pipes, would that make it safer

If it needs earthing what sort is better, a small bag of multi-purpose compost, or a bag of top soil?

But then you'll need to make sure the soil is at least 4 feet deep....

You had a bath with a tranny?

Do the neighbours now about your preferences?

Dont let any of the Insulating oil get into your bath water, it will cause havoc back at the water works...
