help to build garden planter

Hi,

I'd like to build some garden planters and i don't know where to start.

Should i use decking boards or exterior plywood cut to size.
I guess I would have to build a frame first in order to use decking boards.
I could do with some brief instructions on how to build one. I have a circular saw and a jugsaw but i don't this would be good to use for this project?
