Help to take off toilet seat.

Hi All
I have a toilet seat I wish to replace as the chrome fittings are peeling and looking awful but its a soft close with hidden fittings and I dint know how to take it off ,

The silver covers look like plastic ,and there appears to be slots ,close to where it meets the pan ,that a screwdriver can be used to prise them off. Try that first.
 
no slots in the chrome , is it likely to have to strip the toilet down to get underneath to unscrew the fittings ?
 
Are there accessible fittings on the underside of the pan?

Is there a name on the seat?

Have you tried prising the chrome covers inwards towards the center?
 
Plastic covers well and truly stuck on won't move any direction , photo of underneath shows its a bolt into a plug so not unscrewed from underneath, might be a job for multitool to cut the plastic covers

Yep, time to cut the covers off to reveal the top fixing screws underneath.
 
I can see a slot in both brackets full of crud.
