I am having a new kitchen fitted, what should I have done first, the kitchen or the wooden floors?

I would do the floor myself so that you will not need beading but of course you have to be careful not to drop anything during installation of cupboards etc. 
Kitchen units first, then wooden floor - install it a few inches underneath the units and cut the kick-boards to new height.
Imagine a leak or other water disaster in kitchen effecting the floor - all units have to be ripped out before you can tackle the floor problem.
