HELP ! Why so much gas?

Also the timer is set for just 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening yet it seems to be consuming a ridiculous amount of gas.
You are letting the house heat up from cold every time, so no wonder your consumption is high.
This is the typical kind of nonsense that you can expect from somebody who has never been an installer.
Somehow everybody understands that when you consistently turn your engine off when the traffic is gridlocked, you save petrol, but there are untold number of amateurs that seem to think that when you keep the average temperature of the house higher, you will loose less heat.

Very simple: the faster your house cools off, the more gas you will use by keeping it hot all the time.
