Help wiring switch please

One more question:
Can I replace this FCU with an unswitched version? Purely to improve looks and avoid confusion.
Since if I leave the original FCU in place it will never be switched off, what difference would it make?

You know, he probably could, unless the wall lights are humungous.

Well spotted.

I'll get my coat...

I did want a remote control dimmer, I already fitted one for my ceiling lights and it works like a dream using spare button on my TV remote control.

The lights are only 2 little 40W bulbs.

Any further ideas?

Thanks again guys

I assume your remote dimmer is designed to fit a standard back box. You can either flush one in carefully - drill lots of little holes - or you could fit a surface box adjacent to the fused spur.

What I am not to keen on seeing, is that this FCU is fed with what looks like 1 or 1.5mm cable :!: If it is on the ring circuit, this is far from ideal :!:
