Hello,
I'm looking to build a surround around my desk, but I need to do it as cheaply as possible. I've attached a photo of the desk and a drawing of what I want. It needs to be finished as it faces into the room. What materials would be best to use? My budget is £100 - is this realistic?

Here's another drawing from the other side. I haven't drawn the lip, but this is a feature I do want. Also the surface on the left isn't as wide - I'm not sure how wide I can afford it to be yet. Its just an initial plan.

Forget it, just buy what your really after - a bigger desk :)
For that you only need a top, you can get them L shaped.

Thanks for the advice, but the reason I can't do that is my current desk is adjustable. I can lift the back to make it tilted for drawing. I need to keep this, but I also want some surface which stays static, which I can put my laptop etc on while the desk is tilted. I also want to cover the whole thing to make it look tidier.

If you use a frame instead of solid panels for the surround this will make it cheaper, especially if you are planning to cover it in fabric or something similar. Also perhaps you could reduce cost and make it more flexible if you don't have the connecting wood at the back. Instead you could have two pieces that connect to the sides.
