Help with fire back.

Hi All,

Need a little help. I have had a wooden fire surround especially made for my fire. Problem is, it was made slightly bigger than a normal one and i want to fit one of those marble effect laminate type backs.

The ones you buy all seem to be a standard size. Does anyone know of a place where i could buy a piece larger than normal so i could trim it down myself ?

Sorry moderators if i'm breaking rules. I'm not asking for someone to sell me a piece just point me to somewhere that sells it.

Try a local stonemason http://www.hbutterfield.co.uk/naturalstone/index.html they are in luton beds good quality but you pay a bit more also are very helpful on the phone they have a builders merchant and stone mason store in the same road

Do you mean a plastic laminate on chipboard; i.e. you won't be having a real fire burning in there? You can buy laminate by the sheet or cut to size, and stick it to board.

Not with me, it must be one of the others. Still, you're lucky, dozens of the guys have told me how good she is.
