We have two of these cleaners, one belongs to my son and they both make a deafening vibration type noise but I can't find out what is vibrating.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Peter

Dry motor bearings, Peter.....they are just bronze bushes and need a wee bit of lube.
(I've had one with a loose fan but that's very rare.)

Probably because its not under load on the bench, I guess.....for sure, if these machines aren't assembled perfectly the suction goes. I can't think there's anything else to vibrate!

Sounds like a plastic type vibration, if you know what I mean but it really is loud. If you put your foot on the top it quietens a bit. Seeing that they are both doing it I thought it might be a common problem but obviously not. They make them not far from here at Beaminster - or they did.

Can't think, really.....there's just the cord winding mechanisms and power pick ups under there - but I'd still blame the motor.
I have 3 of these.....one newish and two beaten up wrecks onto their second or third motors - but they don't vibrate!

Fortunately mine lives in the garage, I use it mostly for cleaning the cars, my son uses in his house and its deafening. I had the motor out an took it apart, no mean feat, the fan had a fair amount of rubbish in it so I dismantled it and cleand it all up expecting it to be cured - no such luck. I will have to wear my ear defenders when I'm vacuuming.:)
