Hi, Does anyone know to what extent a HepVo will restrict flow in a 40mm pipe?

Thanks,

Katie

I'm trying to decide whether to use one on the shower tray. I only have one waste pipe for bath and shower which is cut into the joists. I want to ensure there is no backflow from bath into the shower tray. I've fitted a monsoon 2 bar twin pump and worried that the HepVo will slow the drainage down.

No, it was already there. The suite looks like its been in there since the 70's.

steved101 - Waste pipe was allready cut into the joists, many years ago by a previous owner.

seco services - Yes, the bath and shower I took out were running into the one pipe, but drain on the shower was very slow and pipes were full or c**p. Now I've replaced them with nice clean ones, I'm afrain the water might find its way into the shower tray.

hold on you had a bath & shower installed with waste pipes that had broke regulations.
you have changed the bath & shower and left the waste pipes in the joinst
which is against building regs.

how deep are your joists ? 8", 9" etc.

Joists are 9". Removing the waste and running it above the floor would not change the fact that the joists have been cut though would it? The cuts will still be there so why not leave the pipe in them.

because the last installer was a bodger don't mean you have to follow.

thats why we end up with all these regs.
the joists should be replaced or surported to give their strength back.

the max a 9" joist can be notched is 28.75mm

if the last waste was very slow and full of crud that tells me it wasn't running away fully and leaving all the crud behind
if you have put the waste in the same place i wouldn't fit a hepvo
